How much does varicose vein treatment cost?
When it comes to varicose vein treatment costs, fees vary considerably. Some clinics offer fixed-price packages, and others state “From” fees, making it hard to establish the full cost of your treatment. At Premier Veins, we use a transparent pricing model so that you understand all costs at every stage of your treatment plan. This article explains our fixed-price treatment model and package costs for a typical treatment journey.
Varicose vein treatment cost at Premier Veins
When you become a patient with Premier Veins, we explain treatment prices, so you always know where you stand. With our fixed-price model, you will know the exact cost of your package from the moment we agree your treatment plan.
What does the treatment package include?
Our treatment packages are tailored to your specific requirements and include the cost of:
- Initial consultation (including a duplex ultrasound scan);
- Initial treatment session;
- Compression stockings;
- Follow-up (including duplex ultrasound scan); and
- 12-month guarantee on treatment of your varicose veins.
The Premier Veins Guarantee
We are confident and proud of our services and offer a 12-month guarantee that you will be satisfied and delighted with the service you receive from us.
What does that mean in practice?
Should your varicose veins return or you discover new ones within twelve months of receiving treatment with us, we will offer you re-treatment at no cost to you.
Treating single/multiple veins in one leg (unilateral procedure)
Some clinics charge per vein, or only offer one type of treatment at a time. This results in an inflated end price for the patient. We don’t do this at Premier Veins. We charge per leg and we offer a one-stop service to get the varicose veins in your leg treated in one go. We do this using a combination of Radiofrequency Ablation and Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy at the same sitting. We have treated many thousands of delighted patients this way. The overheads for treating multiple veins in one session are only marginally more than the overheads involved in treating a single vein. We want to pass that cost saving on to you.
Treating single/multiple veins in both legs (bilateral procedure)
If you require treatment in both legs, this will happen as two separate procedures. In most cases, we can treat the first leg on the same day as your consultation. We keep the cost of treating two legs as low as possible by:
- Reusing your compression stockings for the second leg; and
- Conducting the follow-up for your first leg at the same time as treating your second leg, so there is no need for an additional consultation.
Package costs for a typical treatment journey
Initial consultation
Patients begin their treatment with us by either booking a FREE no-obligation mini-consultation or a full initial consultation.
FREE no-obligation mini-consultation
We offer all potential patients a FREE no-obligation mini-consultation where you can:
- Discuss what you can expect from your treatment journey; and
- Discuss any questions or concerns that you have (including questions about spider vein and varicose vein treatment cost).
If you decide that you would like a full initial consultation, we can extend the session to accommodate this. Alternatively, we can book another appointment if this is more convenient for you. However, there is no obligation to do so – the only cost of the mini-consultation is your time.
Full initial consultation
If you decide to explore treatment with us, we will book you in for a full consultation. At your appointment, your consultant will:
- Discuss your medical history, symptoms and treatment goals with you;
- Perform any necessary non-invasive investigations, including a duplex scan;
- Discuss treatment options with you and recommend your next steps;
- Encourage you to take time to discuss thoroughly any issues or concerns; and
- Create your treatment plan and explain the costs.
Cost: an initial consultation with Premier Veins costs £249 and is refunded from your treatment package cost if you decide to become a patient with us.
Why is a duplex scan necessary?
Patients that present with superficial thread veins can often have hidden varicose veins. Finding and treating varicose veins makes treating thread veins much more effective. For this reason, The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends the use of duplex ultrasound to “confirm the diagnosis of varicose veins and the extent of truncal reflux, and to plan treatment for people with suspected primary or recurrent varicose veins”.
