Facial Veins
Visibly reduce facial veins – and feel ready to face the world again

What causes facial veins?
Facial thread veins, also known as spider veins, are networks of small, damaged veins that appear red or blue. They are usually painless and are more visible in areas where the skin is stretched thin – such as the cheeks, nose and chin.
No one is 100% sure why they develop. Whilst thread veins affect almost the entire adult population, certain people are more prone to them than others. They may flare up during periods of hormonal change or even due to minor trauma such as little bumps and knocks.
- Hereditary conditions
- Over exposure to the sun or UV light
- Excessive alcohol consumption or smoking
- Changes in facial pressure e.g from sneezing
Are facial veins dangerous?
Facial veins are very common, and not generally dangerous. However, if facial veins are making you feel uncomfortable or self-conscious, treatment can help you feel brighter and more like yourself.
Patients often report that the facial veins increase with age and find that having their facial veins treated can improve their confidence and how they feel about their appearance.
